Meredith Viera--you're fired

It's always been my dream to be a screenwriter. And, well, I would be happy to research and write a made-for-tv about how Meredith single-handedly ran the Today show into the ground. Matt's charm, Al's hilarity and Ann's grace can't save them now.
Have you seen Meredith's outfits at the Olympics? Who packed that suitcase-Helen Keller*?

*No offense to disabled people. I am a Ben Stiller fan though fo' sho'.
Look at that. The white shirt under the white and mustard shirt is tucked in and you can see her pants through the white and mustard shirt. yuck! terrible! boo! she's an embarrassment. Her interviewing skills are even worse than her fashion instincts.

Lars and the Real Girl (Really?)

So, I don't know why I should be allowed to post on this site, as I don't watch enough movies to make interesting observations. And when I do watch movies, I don't really make interesting observations. Well, the husband forced me to watch "Lars and the Real Girl" last weekend. I must say, while the premise is absolutely insane, there is a somewhat empathetic quality to the movie (fully intended, by the way), that truly surprised me. I didn't expect to get emotionally involved.

**SPOILERS** stop reading if you haven't seen this film and are dying to do so
So, basically, Lars is this loner who was basically abandoned early in life (mom died, dad kind of checked out). He functions very well -- works, goes to church, is a productive member of society -- except he doesn't really communicate or spend time with may people in the outside world. Enter Bianca. She's a real live sex doll that Lars orders online. Only, he thinks she's real. (This is where you just have to buy in). His brother and sister-in-law realize he's lost his marbles, con him into getting therapy (I thought that part was clever, and should I ever find myself in a similar situation, I might use the same ploy). The doctor tells the family to go along with Lars' delusions -- and eventually, the entire town starts to do the same. That's where things start to get very funny, and heartwarming (wrong word, but can't think of the right one). People start seeing bits of what Lars sees in Bianca. Basically, everyone just wants someone who'll be there for them, hang out with them, listen to them without talking back, and to make them better people. That's what I took away from it. Again, I say I make no interesting observations about movies. I'm not that deep. Blah, blah, blah... Lars eventually gets a real girl -- and now we've come full circle.

That's my first movie post. (probably the last for awhile, as I don't watch many movies -- unless they're on a crappy cable channel like TBS and I've seen them 100 times like 'what women want' or 'how to lose a guy in 10 days.')
Bee Movie is in the DVD player right now. I've tried to watch it 3 times, but LMCP isn't interested, I guess.

Have a good weekend. Let me know how the Dark Knight is. I really want to see that!

Troy

You should really watch it. Just don't pay attention to the dialogue, or mute it altogether.

The Pitt baby pix--not so great. Don't waste your money on the new People. And while Shiloh is so adorable, Jonah is just way cuter.
Did you know Pitt went to college with Autumn and me? Well sort of, he's just way older. We walked where he walked.
